Ahead of major expansion, a nationally recognized system in the Southwest faces two ambitious goals: handling a sizable increase in patient transfers, and managing care across multiple stateswith limited resources.

2 So we took a look under the hood

 

Our team conducted an extensive, no-cost assessment of the system’s operations and uncovered some key areas of opportunity.

3 We came up with an action plan

 

Although the system coordinated logistics with a transfer center and relied on experienced critical care nurses to manage care decisions, they used Excel spreadsheets, page charts, and manual data entrylosing precious time to tedious and duplicative processes.

4 And a vision for how it could make a difference

 

Our team knew that updating the transfer center’s software and procedures could not only transform patient, provider, and staff experiences with the system, but enable smooth operations across multiple facilities.
