Hospital Patient Flow Experts Present Efficiency and Patient Care Strategies at Upcoming Conference

Speakers have been announced for the 2014 Patient Flow Summit taking place May 12-15 in Las Vegas. Presenters from leading hospitals and healthcare policy organizations will explain best practices to increase hospital throughput, improve patient care, and enhance business efficiency within the context of changing healthcare dynamics and new reforms.

The Patient Flow Summit brings healthcare leaders together to share practices that improve operational efficiencies. Attendees discuss topics such as: hospital capacity management, care coordination, on-time discharges, ED flow, LOS optimization, variability management, readmission reduction, and patient access/transfer practices.

“Attendees come back year-after-year because of the peer collaboration activities and the opportunity to talk one-on-one with healthcare thought leaders,” said Derek Hays, Patient Flow Summit, Executive Director. “We had a jump in interest for the Summit this year because changes in healthcare make patient flow more important. To remain sustainable, hospitals need to streamline their processes.”

Featured speakers and topics include: Susan Dentzer, Robert Wood Johnson, Patient Flow Meets Healthcare Reform; Roger Resar, IHI, Reliability in Patient Flow Process Design; Christy Dempsey, Press Ganey, The Patient-Centered Patient Flow Continuum; Kirk Jensen, BestPractices Inc., Securing Physician Buy-In; and Lisa Romano, Skylight Healthcare, Patient Engagement and Discharge Planning.

Additionally, attendees will hear best practices from peers at other innovative hospitals such as UPMC, Temple University Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Henry Ford Hospital, Presbyterian Healthcare, Sidra Medical (Qatar), Bayhealth Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Sturdy Memorial, and Baptist Health South Florida.
