Importance of an Accurate Call Schedule

It's important to have an accurate call schedule when coordinating a patient transfer. 

The life of the transfer center coordinator can be very hectic. Coordinators talk to referring doctors who need to speak with an organized, professional individual because they want the process of transferring their patient to be as easy and efficient as possible. 

A part of every patient transfer is connecting the referring doctor with the accepting doctor to discuss the clinical necessity of the transfer.  As I’ve traveled the country visiting new clients and transfer centers that are evaluating our offerings, I’ve seen firsthand the benefits of having an accurate provider on call sheet.

A transfer center belonging to a hospital that does not have a well-defined and documented process for finding the appropriate physician spends time making calls they shouldn’t have to in an effort to locate the right physician. 

Central Logic has a product called Insight designed specifically for managing provider schedules.  Because Insight is built on the same framework as ForeFront, the transfer center product, they share the same databases and telecommunications engine.  From right within ForeFront, the coordinator can access the on call schedule and contact the right provider the first time.
