Central Logic Taps Experienced High-Tech Executive Jeff Porcaro As New Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services

Industry-Leading Patient Flow Software Provider Enhances Senior Management Team in Response to Unprecedented Growth

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — January 4, 2011 — Central Logic, the healthcare industry’s fastest growing provider of patient flow software and consultative expertise, today announced it has named Jeff Porcaro, a highly-experienced technology product development and integration executive, as the company’s new vice president of engineering and technical services. With extensive expertise in global enterprise software engineering and quality assurance, Porcaro brings over 20 years of senior management experience at major technology concerns, including Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq: SYMC) and Novell, Inc. (Nasdaq: NOVL), to the recently-created position focused on overseeing the development of and feature enhancements to Central Logic’s entire patient flow solutions portfolio.

A respected executive with a proven track record in improving the quality and delivery of enterprise software products, Porcaro will immediately join Central Logic’s senior management team and assume direction of its business-critical software engineering unit. The hiring of Porcaro enhances Central Logic’s rapidly-growing business, and infuses the company with additional product development and software engineering expertise that will be leveraged to drive the build-out and on-time delivery of all solutions.

As vice president of engineering and technical services, Porcaro will be responsible for managing Central Logic’s comprehensive product development strategy, and all software engineering, solutions architecture, and feature set design and integration activities for the company’s primary patient flow offerings: Central Logic ForeFront™, Central Logic Core™, and Central Logic Insight™. In addition, he will oversee a team of experienced developers, and provide the company’s executive suite with strategic counsel and direction related to the creation of new, customer-focused products and ongoing refinements of existing solutions that further benefit Central Logic’s growing client base of hospitals and healthcare systems. Porcaro will report to Darin Vercillo, MD, co-founder and chief executive officer of Central Logic, and a practicing physician.

“Jeff’s arrival at Central Logic comes at a very important and opportune time for the company as we seek to accelerate the development of and delivery schedule for our widely-anticipated bed management platform, Central Logic Core, and to provide our customers with user-requested updates and feature additions to our other patient flow software products in a strategic, timely fashion,” said Vercillo. “Without question, Jeff’s wide-ranging software integration experience and team leadership skills will enable us to more effectively manage our ever-expanding product development pipeline, and elevate Central Logic’s entire software architecture operation to new heights. His contributions and expertise in this critical business function will be invaluable to the company, particularly as we look to build additional market share and expand our footprint in the patient flow domain.”

“In my experience, software engineering is far more than building an elegant user interface, creating a bug-free application, extending a solution to a new platform, or incorporating new features into an updated version,” said Porcaro. “Instead, it is about developing well-designed, easy-to-use products that meet distinct customer needs, add tremendous business and operational value, and help clients be more productive and efficient. This is the approach that Central Logic embraces with its hospital and healthcare system customers. I am excited about joining the Central Logic team, and helping the company continue to create and deliver world-class patient flow management solutions.”

Prior to Central Logic, Porcaro was vice president of engineering at Symantec, where his responsibilities included the integration of product development teams and solutions into Symantec’s enterprise security division following its acquisition of Altiris Corporation in 2007. Previously, he was vice president of engineering at Altiris, and in charge of developing the company’s systems management products. In addition, while at Altiris, Porcaro was the engineering liaison for the company’s strategic alliances with HP, Dell, Intel, IBM, and Fujitsu/Siemens, and was the executive sponsor for the company’s relationship with Microsoft. During his tenures with both corporations, Porcaro managed more than 200 full-time employees and 100 offshore contractors in six different countries that produced some 30 products and four major application suites. His additional professional experience includes software development positions at WordPerfect, Novell, and Corel.
